Ethics

Dia desses recebi um poema muito lindo de uma amiga. Ela estava em uma palestra do Oscar Motomura, e ele leu esse poema para o público da palestra.
Reproduzo o poema aqui, com grifos meus, porque tocou fundo para caramba.
Espero que, no mínimo, ele faça pensar (mesmo que não toque assim, fundo).

Ethics
Reflections on ethics and the process of making things happen.

If ethics is the choice for the common good
- deciding not to act because it is difficult and there are uncertaintities involved... is not ethical;
- deciding to act small because it is more confortable... is not ethical;
- deciding to hold back (your proposals, ideas and actions) because you don't want to go against "the group"... is not ethical;
- deciding to doing the possible instead of trying to making the impossible possible... is not ethical;
- deciding to use just a part of your potencial (to save it for self-interested purposes)... is not ethical;
- deciding not to persist up to the limits of your forces... is not ethical;
- deciding to conform to existing limitations (even the ones in the form of inadequate laws)... is not ethical;
- deciding not to act, to stay in silence, letting fear stay in the way... is not ethical;
- deciding to conform to the "letter of the law" instead of persisting on the path difined by the "spirit of law"... is not ethical;
- deciding to "delegate" your natural power, as a world citizen, to others... is not ethical;
- deciding not to try because nobody tried it before... is not ethical;
- deciding not to act on challenges of scale and complexity because they look overwhelming... is not ethical;
- deciding not to pursue the pefection and conform to what seems "negotioable"... is not ethical;
- deciding to postpone bold actions again and again "waiting for the right moment"... is not ethical;
- deciding not to act pressed by the convetions established by your own "professional community"... is not ethical;
- deciding to hold back because you may not be recognized as the author of the solution... is not ethical;
- deciding to "play the game" and pretend that you are not seeing the manipulations underway... is not ethical;
- deciding to live the realm of ideas, diagnosis and theories instead of taking the riscks and going for action... is not ethical;
- deciding to act only when all is scientifically proven, even when the truth is self evident... is not ethical;
- deciding to reject all radically creative ideas (yours including) when the "traditional-not-so-radical ideas" have not been working... is not ethical;
- deciding not to act because the process of reaching the perfect solution is too complex and difficult to implement... is not ethical;
- deciding to reject every proposal that looks "idealistic" or "uthopic"... is not ethical.

Uma observação especial: com relação à frase
- deciding to postpone bold actions again and again "waiting for the right moment"... is not ethical;
hoje, em uma reunião interna de trabalho, discutimos isso. E chegamos à conclusão que a hora certa é a hora que decidimos que seja a hora certa. Estamos com uma demanda de trabalhos e projetos absolutamente sem noção, que ninguém está realmente dando conta, mesmo que estejamos todos trabalhando em grupo e com uma super sinergia.
De qualquer forma, decidimos nomear esse nosso momento como "vamoaíedepoisagentevêcomofaz", desse jeito mesmo, tudo junto - porque nem tempo de respirar dá.
Depois disso, vi que a vida é inteira assim. A gente nunca, a não ser que mate no peito e compre a briga, tem o esqueminha para falar que "essa não é a hora certa então deixa para lá". A não ser no mundo dos medíocres, dos patéticos, e dos tacanhos, isso não existe.
No mundo que eu estou tentando construir e fazer parte (aquela boa e velha história de sermos a mudança que queremos ver no mundo), não temos tempo nem opção para ficar escolhendo muito. É tudo nessa base: "vamoaíquedepoisagentevêcomofaz". Mesmo que sem fôlego, mesmo que não seja fácil.
Ou seja, mata no peito, compra a briga, pega o jacaré mergulhando de cabeça. Se eu pudesse dar conselho para alguém hoje em dia, seria isso.
Óbvio que tem toda uma questão de estabelecer prioridades e de entendermos o que realmente é um "chamado", ou o que realmente é uma "balada" - e qual dos dois a prioridade será dada. Mas sobre prioridades, baladas, chamados, escrevo outro dia.
Por hoje, gostaria que todo mundo lesse isso e repetisse: "vamoaíquedepoisagentevêcomofaz".
